My web provider only accepts one SMTP server. But this SMTP server is not
available outside my office. When I am outside the office (at home or in a
business trip), I must change manually the SMTP server using the GUI of
outlook. This is boring and not user-friendly.

I am sure there is another way, maybe something to change in the registry,
or in a .init file or ...

Any clue?

Boring? That's an interesting way of putting it.

You can change the server in the Control Panel's Mail applet but that might
also be boring in your estimation. There's a way to cange it in the registry
but the server name is stored in Unicode so it's not easily entered by hand.
I've written a program to do it on my machine to take into account different
locations. For reference sake you can find the settings here in registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\<Profile Name>

You'll have to dig under that key since there are a number of keys under it.
It's a lot less user-friendly than using the GUI.

The solution is forget changing the SMTP server and use something lik
http://www.authsmtp.com. Have been using it for just over
months now and never have to change SMTP servers as I swap beween hom
/ work / mobile ISP's

Hope it solves the problem for you! :
