How to change the SMTP port in Outlook for Bellsouth DSL?

Since switching to Bellsouth DSL, I can receive emails, but cannot send
emails. I called my ISP and they said I need to change the SMTP port. So, I
go into Outlook to change the port from 25 to 587. This worked in one
account, but not the main account.

The problem I have is when I change the SMTP port and hit okay, I get an
Outlook error stating "The account name is already being used. Please choose
another name." and does not allow me to change it.

Does anyone know a fix or workaround for this? I really do not want to
delete the account and recreate it. Thank you for your assistance!!!
 
Okay, Resarted the laptop, then went into Control Panel, opened mail, chose
the account and hit 'Properties', email accounts, etc.

Changed the port to 587, hit Ok and still getting that darn message.

Okay, So reluctanly I removed the account and rebuilt it with the 587 port
and it works perfect.
