How to change the name of an Outlook (Misc) User Field?

In the Detailed Card view in Outlook 2003, under the All Fields tab &
Miscellaneous Fields, I have 4 User Fields (User Field 1, etc). These came
into Outlook using PocketCopy from Palm Desktop, where they were Custom
Fields, and that tool assigned these to Outlook User Fields (makes sense).
Now I wish to change the label/name for these User Fields for all Contact
records (eg, to the same custom labels I used for them in Palm Desktop). I
can't find a way to do this so far. When I click the Properties button after
hi-liting a User Field, the property fields, which include the name, are
greyed out. Haven't found any other Option or Preference or Custom dialog
with this ability. Please advise.

By the way, I have been reading in KB articles about how it's not possible
to Export the User Fields, but I was successful in doing that (along with all
other fields) to an Excel file, did some work on them before Importing them
back into Outlook Contacts. No problems. New feature in Outlook 2003 SP2?

Suspect that what the KB articles were referring to were "user-defined"
fields which are different from the User1-4 fields that are considered
Outlook standard fields (that cannot be renamed). User-defined fields
(otherwise also referred to as "custom fields") can not be imported or
exported by any past or current version of the Outlook import/export wizard.

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.outlook.mac may be a better
place to ask.
