how to change permissions in forms

I have a db in 2000 that seems to run ok but i want to change some of the
forms. teh person who wrote this db use to live in the UK and i live in
australia. i have tried to contact but he seems to have disappaered. when i
go to change the forms it states i do not have permissions. how do i get
around this problem.

Richard, there are several possible solutions, but it might depend on the
nature of the problem.

It may be that the developer used Access security, so you have an mdw file
associated with your mdb, and the mdw requires permissions.

It could be that the mdb is password protected, or the VBA is password
protected.

Or, it could just be custom code the developer wrote.

If you need to have this changed, it probably does need professional
assistance. Any reputable person you ask for help is going to need to verify
that the legal side is okay (the original writer really is uncontactable.)
