how to change log on screen

Is there a way to change the log on/welcome screen to something different..I can not stand blue and would like to use something else..also..how do I keep the XP bubble look and change themes..I don't like the xp themes it comes with and I've tried other themes..for xp I might add and they end up in the classic look..any help would be appreciated
