Hi All,

Novice FrontPager here. I'm looking for a way to change the background
colour of the Navigation Links Only within a website.

For example, on this page: hovering over the "Office Discussion.."; "Office
Home" and "Office Worldwide" links, causes the link background turns a darker
grey.

I'm thinking, that with the request I may have to define a border size etc?

Thanks,
C

Hi C

There are several ways to show rollover link colours. First in FP 2003 go to
insert > interactive button, then scroll down to simple text. Using the tabs
at the top you can change the hover colour and down colour, you can also
change the size of text etc. This creates javascript which is qute heavy for
a html page.
Another way is to use CSS styling which is much preferable for web
standards. Please see http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp for how to do
this. Its very easy. Or another way is to use flash (swf) but you would
require correct software for this. I hope this has helped

Hi Phil,

Thanks for your response. I visited the site you refeered to and already its
providing the answer to my question. It's just that I realise now my question
was not complete!

The navigation on the left of this page will help demonstrate what I'm
looking for. If you hover over each of the links, it's not just the text
itself that is highlighted. Instead, the hover backgroud colour remians
consistent in size occupying the full length of the margin. So as you hover
over each side link it looks neat and tidy. I've tried to fudge my ineptness
by inserting character spaces so each link is an equal 10 characters long -
but it just doesn't work.
Anyone any ideas?

Cheers,

C

Aarrgh. Have another link problem - link between brain-finger-keyboard (guess
this isn't the right kind of place to get help for that........?

I've still not explained myself in full! .... I'm looking for a solution
that would affect the top and side navigation only. Not links that exist
within the body of each web page.

Thank you,
C

Ah I think I know what your on about. I would certainly use CSS for these.
Here is a link where you can get free CSS navigation code, you just then
customize to requirements. Hope it helps. Keep checking with W3C site for
tutorials on how to make your navigation bars.
