how to change language to english

help! we had a slovakian au pair girl who changed the language in Word to a
foreign language which i simply cannot understand. please can someone tell
me how to change it back to english again.....I am using a dell computer with
Windows XP 98 which was already installed on the PC when we bought it. i
have looked up the topic in help and it says the settings are already in
english...but they are not...any advice greatfully received....
 
Open Word, hit F1, click the Index tab, type: language in the keyword box,
click the Search button, click on a topic in the Choose topic box and read
about it in the right hand pane.

Change the language of the user interface or Help in Office programs
Enable editing of multiple languages
