How do we change the left mouse button to activate a command by
double-clicking rather than single-clicking?

Doesn't your version of XP have a help and support centre then?

Gee, why didn't I think of that? Of course it does, but the info in
mouse properties doesn't resolve the problem. That's why I asked here.
Choosing the option for "Double Click" / Apply results in an ERROR
Message: "No click has been specified. You must specify at least one
click." Does anyone know how to get the double-click option instgead
of the error message?

Thanks,

Hi

Have you installed any 3rd party 'tweaking' program(s) that may have altered
that option?

Thanks to all who actually helped with tangible advice. I was able to
change the click operation by going in through Windows Explorer / Tools
/ Folder Options. In reply to Will Denny, no I never added or
installed any 3rd party software. This is a new system and I resist
all 3rd part software unless absolutely necessary such as
industry-specific, work-related software. I still don't understand why
trying to make the change in Mouse Properties is blocked by the Error
Message, "No click has been specified...You must specify at least one
click."

Thanks,

Why do you bother to even respond if you're going to act like you're on the
rag all the time? Why do you respond at all? What is a redeeming quality
for your existance? You are a prejudiced, narcissistic and egocentric
entity of questionable viability at times, you know that?
