how to change display color

My dell inspiron 8100 currently displays in 16 color on a
standard VGA, how would i get it to display higher, in
perhaps 256 colors. What would i have to download? Thanks.
 
You can download the video drivers on Dell's website. Go to
http://support.dell.com/ (if it's your first time visiting the site
you'll have to create a user id and password). Then get the service tag
number from your computer's case and you can find all the drivers for
your system.
