Hi,

I can't get the window to post a new question (it won't come up--what am I
doing wrong?), but this seems close enough.

My old computer disconnected all of my web pages from FrontPage. (I now
have a new computer and have to reconnect them anyway.) I considered
File/Import from my web site on the Internet to get them back, but it seems
this feature wants to dump "new" files onto the Internet, rather than place
what's on the Internet into my computer. Neither FP Help or the manual have
been very reassuring, and I just don't know what to do. Please help.

I want only to use c:\data as default

If your web site is on a server that has the FrontPage server extensions
enabled, you can do what's called a "reverse publish":

Presuming your online site has the FP SE
use reverse publishing per above post
- your local site will be the currently opened online site
- set your remote site to your PC (file Based) at c:\data\somewebname
