How to change a pps file into a Ppt file in order to edit it?

With Ppt 97 for instance you just had to change the suffix pps into ppt and
the would change the icon and make the file editable.
But with Ppt 2003 which I am using, this action does not work.

This might have to do with 2003 updates. However, you can always open
PowerPoint, then click "File", "Open", browse to and select your PPS file.
Then do a file, save as, and everything is fine. Regardless, I would
recommend making sure you have the latest 2003 updates, just in case.

Thanks a million. Problem solved!

I know you're good to go now, but just for future reference, it may be that
your file extensions are hidden. So when you rename

presentation.pps to presentation.ppt

you're really naming it presentation.ppt.pps -- the hidden PPS extension
gets added on by Windows. http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00781.htm has info on how
to change this.
