How to cancel auto encoding

Downloaded PDF file (student) from University web site. When Word opens
document it is encoded or encrypted. How can I remove or turn-off this
function and translate doc to English?

Word doesn't understand the PDF file format at all -- that's why
you're seeing the "encoding". (It is *not* encrypted -- that's a
completely different idea.)

You need to get the free Adobe Acrobat Reader
(http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readermain.html) to open the
PDF file. Then you may be able to copy the text from the reader and
paste it into a blank Word document, assuming whoever created the PDF
didn't lock it against copying.

There are commercial products that can convert PDF to Word doc format,
such as ScanSoft PDFconverter (http://www.scansoft.com/pdfconverter),
btu you probably don't need anything that fancy.
