Boss will be in Beijing for a month, he has changed his calendar to GMT +8, I
am in the Pacific time zone. Can i still calendar and schedule with my
primary time zone set to Pacific time zone and count on his calender to
reflect accordingly?

He should consider using the second time zone feature instead of changing
his calendar's tme zone.

I can tell you that we schedule meetings between our sites all over the
world and the meeting times come out correctly as long as the PC and Outlook
both agree on the time zone.

Thank you.

I forgot to mention his Outlook is synchronized with his Blackberry
(allowing for International data) which he depends on for all his
appointments while away from the desk.

We did an experiment, my coworker changed his primary time zone to GMT +8, I
scheduled in an appointment on 7/15 at 12pm. His calendar showed up as 7/16
at 3pm. I think, the only way around this, is for me to calculate the time
difference and schedule accordingly.

Unless someone else has another suggestion?

you should use the time zone feature in outlook. Tools > Options, in the
'Preferences' tab select the 'Calendar options...' tab then the 'Time
Zone...' tab the select the 'Sow an additional time zone' tick box. Give it a
Label (eg BEJ) and label your current one if it already isnt (eg PAC), adjust
the drop down box time zone (for the additional time zone) to GMT +8. When
you go back to the Outlook calendar it will display both time zones down the
left. you just make the appointments against that and you wont have to muck
around with changing machine time zones.

If this is going to be an ongoing thing, you may want to look at Outlook
2007 that incorporates a second time zone in its appointment window.
