How to Benchmark?

I think I'm out of date. There used to be a bunch of benchmarking utilities
available to measure the performance of a system. They were primitive, but
they worked.

I've built a new server and I want to measure disk performance. I
downloaded and ran Winbench 99 2.0 but it only tests the C: drive. Ya, it's
fancy and tries to emulate real world conditions, but for me it's useless
unless it actually tests the disks.

Where can I find a free old fashion "write to the disk, read it, measure the
speed" kinda benchmark that will run on Windows Server 2003? or XP?
