I am a novice user with a Compaq 8401 computer. I
recently purchased and installed a Western Digital 80MB
External Drive to use as a back up device. Unfortunately,
I do not know how to use Windows XP Home Edition to
accomplish the task.

Is there a step-by-step tutorial that would guide me
through the process? If so, how and where do I find it?
If not, is there anyone out there with the necessary
knowledge who will assist me?

Thanks, Ralph

Hi Ralph,

Use Windows XP NTBackup utility and backup the files & settings to the
external hard disk. NTBackup is not installed by default in XP Home. Insert
the XP CD-ROM and install NTBackup, available in the Valueadd folder.
