Hi Team,
I desparately need your help as i need access to some important files. This
is what has happened so far:
I installed Norton 360 v2 a few days and rebooted my machine. When i
authenticated myself to XP, it would say logging in and before you know it,
it will automatically say logging off? I've tried logging in in safe mode to
no avail. I get the same error as above. I even tried plugging my HDD to
another PC to get my files, but it says access denied.
I've changed the ownership and permissions for the folder, but i've had to
go to each and every file and folder and repeat the same procedure so that i
can access my files.
This is what i do: Go to the folder -> Properties -> Security -> Advanced
-> Owner -> Select the user (with admin rights) -> Ok -> Ok.
I then go back to the same folder and select a file and go: Properties ->
Security -> Add -> Select the user (with admin rights) -> give the user Full
(allow) access -> Ok
I'm then able to access the file. Is there a quicker way to automatically
go to the folder and change the ownership and give the user full access
rights to all files in that folder?
Thanks for your help on this.
Regards,
Jono.
