I have a computer setup in an office network and
connected through hubs and I am using windows XP. Where
can I edit the workgroup and the network name of this
computer in the network??? As I want to change it to a
more meaning name and to my department workgroup. Also,
where can I add a new workgroup to the network ??

In XP, right click on the My Computer icon on your
desktop, and choose properties from the drop down menu. Go
to the second tab (Computer Name). Towards the bottom of
the window, choose the button Change.

Here you can change the computer name, as well as join a
domain, join a workgroup, or create a new workgroup (just
add a unique workgroup name, and there's your new
workgroup for other computers to "join").

Good luck!
