Michael

I spoke with Microsoft support and MsN Premuim support
and they don't have an answer. They suggested I repost
the question and hope Danny Boy doesn't reply. How do I
get Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta to automatically start. I
have the box checked in "Options, Settings, Real time
Protection" that says "Enable at startup". But it
doesn't start. I have to click on the desktop icon
manually everytime I reboot. Please reply with a
solution. I also run Norton Internet Security 2005 and
AdAware and AdWatch by Lavasoft.

doesn´t icon appears?
use ctrl+alt+del and see the process with your names
stated with GCAS...., as:

GCASDTSERV.EXE
GCASSERV.EXE

so, the MSAS is working...

try repair the install in ADD/REMOVE PROGRAM from windows

reinstall MSAS while turning off Norton's junkware

Disable NIS 2005 for awhile and see if that makes a difference - you may
have to reinstall MSAS - you ARE logging in as ADMIN aren't you?

Application Notes:
Registering a VB6 dll seems to fix missing agents:
1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> cmd)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without the quotes).
3) Close and re-open Windows AntiSpyware
4) If that fails, install VB6 runtime files:
