How to: Add laptop to AOL & access desktop

I just received a second computer, a laptop. This may
sound very fundamental to most of you, but... how or can
I connect my laptop to my ISP account so I can view all
my email messages?

Do I need to have a separate email account from my
present one to do this?

I don't really understand laptops too much so I am pretty
confused.

to share the internet access, it is better to add a router to your network.
alternatively, setup Internet connection sharing.
