I'm using Word 2002. Is there a way to add comments through the right click
menu instead of insert from the toolbar?

Thanks,
Brett

Open Customize dialog box (Tools, Customize) at the Toolbars tab. Check
Shortcut menus, which will make the Shortcut Menus toolbar appear on
screen. Now switch to the Commands tab of the Customize dialog box and
choose Insert. In the right pane, scroll down to the Comments command,
drag it to the Text menu on the ShortCut toolbar. When the menu opens,
drag to the Text submenu, and drop the command on that menu. You can
edit the menu button further if you want.

Now when you right click on text, the context menu that opens will
include the Comments command.

Larry,

Thanks. It work perfect.

How can I change the default comment font?

Also, is there a way to hide the comment until the mouse moves over it?
Similar to Excel comments.

With your cursor located in the Comment text, open Format, Style to open
the Style dialog box. It will open with Comment text style already
selected, and you can proceed to modify it.

However, I'm working here on Word 97 and I know the style features and
Comments have changed in later editions of Word. I have a feeling your
second question, how to hide the comment, relates to Comments as they
are appear in post-Word 97 editions of Word so I can't help you there.

Brett,
Choose Tools - Options - on the view tab - in the most left column (top off
the screen) check the last option in the column. I do not know the exact
name as I am using the dutch version. To the best of my knowledge though
this option is normally checked but maybe you unchecked it by mistake. If
that doesn't cure it maybe someone else will have a better idea.
