How to add a null character?

I'd like to add a null (000) character to my password. IOW, I want a
character that must be there, but doesn't show up on the screen. How does
one do this?

Try Alt+255 when creating a password, some software will accept this as
valid, others will not.

Be careful using this particular value since C uses the null character to
mark the end of a string. Hence, C won't use null as a valid character.
And then, the password you enter may not match what is in the OS.
