I have tried a number of ways to add small boxes to a document, which i
a form where people are meant to put a tick in the box.

I tried useing the draw a box option, but this cannot be lined-up wher
several boxes appear on the table on consecutive rows. If I use th
insert option for a symbol of a box this is too small, can only b
enlarged with increasing the font, and then puts the whole table ro
outsize. There must be an easy way to do this?? I have been given a
example to copy where there are loads of these boxes, all neatl
lined-up, with text next to them!

Help!

Maureen,
Don't know if you had a response yet, nothing is showing up here so I'll
have a go.
There is a check/uncheck box autotext entry in one of Words templates, I
think it is in one of the fax templates. You could copy those to your normal
dot, using the organizer. Tools - Templates and add-ins... it is an autotext
entry just copy it from your fax template to normal.dot

I like the Boarders version, it's EZ!

"The secret to creating a similar box using the Borders
dialog is to use at least one nonbreaking space
(Ctrl+Shift+Spacebar) since Word will not put a border on
ordinary spaces."

I love popping in here, because I'm always learning new
tricks that I can actually use.

one nonbreaking space (Ctrl+Shift+Spacebar)

This is a nice tip, but how do I turn it off so that I can type normal text
to the right or left of the box, i.e. [ tick box ] type regular text on
the rest of the line?

Ctrl+Spacebar to remove the font formatting (border).
