About a week ago, I messed up my Windows XP Home.
I thought I could fix it using "repair",
but when I ran my CD rom, it preferred "recovery".
Recovery appears to be a polite term for *total*
installation. So it ran for over an hour and
rebooted, and at first it looked OK.
Over the next few days...
(a) file association is never worked;
(b) *.vse files are labeled type ISCHindi files;
(c) When I turned on my computer today, I have
no audio.
When file association quit, I tried to fix it
by deleting things from the registry. When it did
not help, I imported the *.reg files that I saved
*before* editing the registry, but it seems
that things are getting worse.
Today I tried (again) to "repair" Windows XP, but
repair does not seem to be accessible. My CD is a
genuine update CD. Does the update CD not have
"repair"???
When I ran my update CD last week, I passed
recovery to get to repair. So I am certain that
my update CD has repair. I guess my real question
is:
HOW DO I ACCESS REPAIR?
Thanks,
Charles
