What's the catch? Is it because it is has the cheap msi mobo?

Thanks.

Hmm, those prices do look good. Still, it's hard to tell what
components might just be craptastic.

They get an average rating at the Better Business Bureau. Quite a few
complaints, but they've essentially dealt with all of them:

There's a similar pattern at reseller ratings:

They've gotten a very high score there, and I wonder if they have
campaigned to inflate their own numbers. There seem like a lot of "Very
Satisfieds" with only the one rating. I find the descriptions to be
more informative than the raw numbers, as you can assign a twit factor
to complaintant. Keep in mind of course, that people tend to put more
effort into complaint than praise.

It looks like CyberPower might be, or nearly be, overburdened. A lot of
the excuses given to customers where they've blown their 10-day promise
sound like bullsh*t to me. That, with the inconsistencies suggests that
they might just have more to do than they can accomplish in a timely
fashion.

Perhaps it's paranoia, but I'm wary of companies that appear so
metastable to me. I'm afraid that my order will be the first one in
their march straight into the toilet.

what does surprise you so? how much does sum of parts cost in your opinion?

i've recently helped my friend to select cheapest PC suitable for gaming. he
have bought it for 450$, and he is quite satisfied now.

so i have no surprise that you can buy a system for 650$.. but it's not even
actually suitable for gaming because of weak videocard..

The catch is the low price includes a cheap case w/poor PSU,
and lowest cost oem parts per series. It can make a
suitable system if you upgrade the PSU but recognize you
have only the cyberpower warranty on many parts.

Frankly if you're going to have someone build you a system
you're better off with a local shop that can provide better
support or an OEM with more testing of parts combinations
(like Dell /etc).

It has a slow onboard video chip instead of a video card which puts a load
on the CPU and the system RAM, and onboard audio which puts a load on the
CPU.

It's because it has cheap everything ! I would estimate it costs them
around $400 - $450 to build that $650 system.. (that's with wholesale parts
pricing, buying the parts retail I'd say $500 - $550)

Nothing good can come of a $50 case/psu combo.. certainly not the 420W it
claims..
