Hi there,

I got confused every time I open folders like Programs or WINDOWS in any
windows operating system(s). So many subfolders contained therein. Are they
arranged in a certain logic? I know folder Programs includes some third pary
softwars, and folder Windows includes all system files. But what these
subfolders shall contain? Are there any tips to distinguish among these
folders and subfolders?
And what they exactly represent? Are their existence necessary? Could I
delete them?

Pls help.

Thks.

Delete the Proram Files directory???
Well since it contains almost every program you install in XP (save for
those that aren't designed for XP) then I would definitely NOT delete them.
As far as distinguishing them you have control over what the directories are
named when you install a program if you choose "Custom Install" As far as
the arrangement you can sort them by just about anything you want.
(Filename, date, etc...)
The subdirectories under the Windows directory aren't meant to be touched by
novice or even most intermediate computer users.

Why not just use the applications on your computer instead of worrying about
the folders contained therein?..
