How the f*ck do you turn off updates for

Defender and malicious software checker??

I hate defender, turned it off , but I like Winupdate. But Winupdate now
nags me every freakin day with a
defender Update I don't even need (and surely not want).

i dunno about the updates, right clicking the update in question seems
to only affect that specific update, not all updates related to that
aspect of vista.

disable defender: start> CP > administrative tools > services > windows
defender, right click, properties, set to 'disabled' startup type.
