I want to put a good graphics card in my sons computer.
How can I determine if the motherboard will accept AGP cards or just PCI?

thanks!

Looking from the front of the board (all the wires plug in at the back) on
the left you will see the PCI slots (white usually) and your board will have
between 2 and 5 of them. To the right of them and set back by a couple of
inches is another slot which
is usually dark brown - thats the AGP port. or just check the manual - they
all have diagrams of the board layout. If the board only has PCI slots think
about replacing the board because PCI graphics cards are hard to find and
tend to be expensive.

Take a look at this picture:

The AGP slot is the red one right above the 5 PCI slots and just below the
yellow wire. On your motherboard the AGP slot (if you have one) is probably
brown.

Another way to see what's in your computer is to download and run this free
program - Everest Home Edition
