I periodically get a message saying I am running out of disk space on local
disk C: Windows drive now has (e.g. 2841) MB of free space. What's up with
that?
Nick

That's about 85% full (more if the 19G is the unformatted capacity). Perhaps
the threshold for the warning is 80%

It's your sock drawer....organize the sock drawer. Do
you really need all those different colored socks?

In "My Computer" r-click your drive and select "properties" see how much
free disk space it indicates. You may need to get rid of some excess files
such as stored pictures, music, etc.

When I got the 20 GB hard drive I was led to believe that that was much more
than I would ever need. Apparently not. Thanks all for the feedback.

You can recover some space by reducing the amount Windows XP uses for System
Restore points. Be aware that this reduces the number of restore points so
in the event of a problem you may only be able to restore to a point a week
ago rather than a month ago.
