How save messages in different places (or find) them

I want to save messages, lets say from a consultant, where I can find them
by the consultant's name or the customer.

I can have folders for both, and save a copy in one and the "original" in
another. Does that make the PST file larger by one or two times the message
size?

Or, I could assign multiple "contacts" or "categories" to the message and
use advanced find. That's a bit slow, but if I do add the extra info, it has
a good chance of finding all the mesaages.

Does anyone have a good strategy for this?

Thanks

John

Outlook 2003 has got the solution for you; Search Folders. These are virtual
folders based on a query that you can specify.

And yes, storing the message twice costs twice the space of the mail (+ a
little indexing space)

I've read a bit about 'search folders' and they sound useful. But, it's not
clear if they are much faster than a normal stored search. Since you might
change search critera or change properties of an old message to make the
search find it, it seems like it would be running the search from scratch
every time.
