How Promote BDC to PDC so that PDC become demoted BDC automatical

I have a old server which is to be replaced /demoted & A BackUp Domain
Controller is promoted as a Primary Domain Controller.Is any one know the
exact method for this.

Windows 2000 operates in multimaster mode. There is no PDC or BDC.

Do you mean NT 4.0?

No PDC/BDC in W2k..join new server, dcpromo for domain controller, transfer
roles to this server, then domain can continue on

Can you brief the process How to transfer roles to new server.I want same
domain & Computer Name for new Server.

No PDC/BDC in W2k..join new server, dcpromo for domain controller, transfer

your new promoted server will ensure domain name remains, you can rename the
new server later after other server is gone
