How prevent Access 97 databases from being created?

We are converting all our Access databses to version 2000 (over 1500
databases). Many are in 2.0 and 97. Is there any way to prevent new Access 97
databases from being created, by removing some file from the users machine?

if you are upgrading to 2k, why not remove 97?
if they don't have it, they can't create in it.

That was my thought also. Once the files are converted can
to 2000 will 97 read them? I don't think it will. Makes
97 useless.

You are correct.
Access 97 will not read A2K databases.
However, A2K can read A97 databases.

If at all possible, I'd recommend either removing A97 before installing A2K,
or simply upgrading from A97 to A2K. Removing A97 from a parallel
installation could be a mite problematic.
