How do I transfer an old outlook.pst file into a version of outlook installed after a computer crash

You can connect to the file by using File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

What do you do when you get the message "Properties for this information service must be defined prior to use?" I have three .pst files saved on a disk but can't use them becuase I have no clue what that message means.

I am installing the .pst files on a different computer with a different server address. Is that what they are referring to?
 
Copy each file to the hard drive. Right-click the copied file in Windows
Explorer and choose Properties. Clear the Read-only check box.
