Recently I make a little mess on the computer I work on. Basically
it's a win2000 computer in a Microsoft network with a domain
controller and used to work well, But one time I used a Puppy linux
LiveCD to start the computer and connect to the internet via
DHCP(actuallly under win2000 i can't get on internet maybe my machine
is blocked by sever, and it is using static IP under win2000) ,the
computer can't log into win2000 anymore. when start,it has a
message:"can't log in because the computer account in it's primary
domain is missing..." and wont start. but it's ok if i unplug the net
cable it start as normal.
as I seacrch on the net ,I find it maybe beacause some "object" is
missing, and need to rejoin the domain. the problem is I am not the
administrator of the network so I can't do that. The only problem is I
want to know how exactly is this happen? is it becuase I use DHCP to
connect that will destroy the link between my computer and the domain
controller?
let's suppose the problem is fixed, because these linux livecd deosn't
touch anything on the harddrive and supposed to have no effect on the
installed system,if it is so, is it safe next time, that I shutdown the
win2000 computer first, unplug the net cable then use linux without
network.then shutdown, then restart to win2000,will I be able to join
the domain normally?
thanks first!
