For anyone who wants to see available and used system or video
memory without the complexities of using Performance Monitor. There
is an ultra-simple free utility called MemStatus. I think it's
especially useful for seeing how much video memory you are using for
a particular game/application, so you can tell how much you need.
I just needed to upgrade since version 2.5 doesn't recognize over 2
GB of memory. There is a new version 2.6 that recognizes more
memory, but dropped support for Windows 98.
