Hi,

I want to know how to estimate how many restore points will fit into a given
amount of disk space. I know the size is dependent on the configuaration,
but just for a rule of thumb, should I figure they are 1 meg, 10 megs, 25
megs, 50 megs each, etc.

Thanks,

A

Each restore point takes up approx. 200mb.

There is no fixed anwer to that question, it depends on how many things
have been done, and how many things have changed, since the last restore
point was created (which, implicitly, is likely to depend to some degree
on the time interval between restore points).

You can set the total amount of disk space available for restore points,
and windows keeps as many as will fit in that space.

The size certainly can be substantial in some cases (hundreds of
megabytes), but in other cases it might be quite small, only a few tens
of megabytes.

MAP, where did you get that number from?

"Each restore point takes up approx. 200mb."

I have SR set to 508 Mb's and I normally have 8 or 10 restore points.
