My SprintScan 4000 is getting a bit old and I am looking at getting my
(probably) last 35mm film scanner before I get a digital 35mm SLR (tough
to get rid of my trusty Nikon film SLRs).
Question is - How much better will either of these two modern scanners
be than my SS4000?
- I'm particularly interested in their increased dynamic range and
color accuracy. I've had problems with getting accurate colors in the
shadows with the SS4000 - the detail is there, but the colors tend to be
way off (using Vuescan or PCInsight) and require a lot of massaging in
PhotoShop.
Anyone care to venture how much improved these scanners may be over the
SS4000 (NOT the later Plus model)
Thanks -
