A true server has no hard limits on connections unless you specify a maximum
number of connections in the sharing properties of the device or folder to
be shared. If you're using a non-server operating system (like Windows 2000
Professional or Windows XP) as a "server" there are a limit of ten
simultaneous connections in Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP
Professional and five simultaneous connections in Windows XP Home.
In none of these cases do mapped drive letters matter - any connection
(printer, mapped drive or UNC path) counts as one connection.
