How long to publish a web to geocities

I am publishing to geocoites from home via DSL and it is taking forever. Is
that normal or am I doing something wrong.
 
Depends on the size of the web and how busy you host is
- but if it hangs you may have some "bad" files in your web (like thumbs.db files)
