How long(hours or minutes) does Microsoft Antispyware scans??

can some one can tell me please, becuase am scanning my pc and its taking a
couple of hours so i want to know how long does it take? and one more
question when i go to the Window Task Manager M.SA 1st appears as not
responding but then it changes to responding, why does this happens?

scanning usually takes between 15 minutes and an hour, for most folks.

The appearance you are seeing in task manager is normal, I believe--it'll
show not responding if the task is busy and doesn't respond within a timeout
period.

However, those responses notwithstanding, I suspect you may well have
spyware in place with is interfering with the scan.

Have you done a full system scan with your updated antivirus application?

You might also try other anti-spyware scanners--Lavasoft's ad-aware, for

Mine takes some time, sometimes over an hour. Ive got it running a full
system scan, scanning all but one file on my C drive and ive also got it Deep
Scanning files.
