How lock desktop?

I try to lock desktop(right click, arrange icons), but if I reboot,
everything gets displaced. As I thought about this note, I notice that it
says "..lock web items on desktop". How do I lock the icons to stay in one
place.

Windows Home XP 1 gig ram 160g hd

It's a bug in Windows that Microsoft thinks is so funny they never bother to
fix it. Here's a free app that you can use to restore your icons when they
get messed up... Icon Restore:

try this after you have your Icons where you want them right click and select
refresh . it works with my xp home version.
