Date format changes from eg 27 Feb 06 to 2/27/2006 when I merge from excel to
a list in a table. How keep my preferred format?

Peo: I've tried all the optionsin excel cell forms: text, general, etc. None
allow me to keep my dates as text. Every one converts. Please help me w other
options.

Peo: Thanks for sticking w me. -- How do I use the word options in the link?
I've looked everywhere I can think of when I'm doing the mailmerge from excel
into my list.

Here are some links

in the last link there is another link called

How to force Word to use the number format you want in a mail merge field

I think that is what you are looking for

btw, you use Alt + F9 to show the field codes

I have no problems if I use text dates, not just formatted as text but real
text either by using

=TEXT(Date_cell,"mm/dd/yy")

or formatting cell as text

Also in a case like this you are probably better off asking in the Word
mailmerge newsgroup
