Hi all,
I love hover (menu) with dropdownlist (Ms site).
But other great side (McWorld,Apple) also
didit without dropdownlist.
So Can anyone tell me important/advantage
of menu with dropdownlist? And why it is not
as a standard in FrontPage?
thankyou!
Johan
Dropdown menus present a lot of choices in a small space.
Also, they're trendy. Also, because they're difficult to
do, you can show everyone you're a tough guy.
FrontPage 2003 has two features -- Layers and Behaviors --
that you can use in concert to create drop-down menus.
Basically, you make each main menu choice a layer, and
each submenu a layer. Then, you configure the behavior of
each main manu choice to be that on mouseover, its submenu
becomes visible and all others become invisible.
Of course, any menus you create this way will work only
with (drum roll) IE. That's probably why there's no full-
bore drop-down menu creator in FrontPage. Microsoft would
have to make it work with too many non-IE browsers.
Because of the issues with browser compatability, this is
likely to remain a third-party niche for some time. Or, if
you're very good at DHTML coding, you can roll your own.
