I wish to store the data from an old France Payroll Progress application into
Access table for user query. How can I export from Progress 6.3F on a UNIX
(MPRAS) server, then import to Access 97 on a Win2K box? Anyone know?

I used to work with Progress 6 a few years back in time, under UNIX AIX and
the best (and safest) way we used to use to migrate data from Progress to any
other application was text files (fixed columns or comma separated, it
doesn't matter). They are easy to be created by Progress and can be easily
imported by any other application.

I just don't know if they came up wtha better slution for this (I bet they
did).

Mauricio,

Thanks for the response. I have tried this with a table that has 4100
records and the total size is less than 1/2 Meg....but I get an error
'Overflow'. I'm assuming this is telling me that I am loading too
much....do you know?

Thanks.

size of the file doesn't seem to be the problem. Maybe the size of the value
in a field. It could have several things like trying to record a number
bigger than 255 in a byte field or bigger than 32767 in a integer field.

can you isolate the row where it happens?
first, try to isolate the row. after try to find out which column.
it may give youa clue.
