How i can search, personnel record by grades or by name on databas

I have problems with Microsoft Access Query?????

I have designed a database in MS access for a company personnel record, now
I want categorizes the database by grads" ranks" or by ID numbers( when I
type the name of a person it should show me the data of that specific person
among 1000 personnel on the form?

2nd. if I want to see one rank people among many for example" colonels,
Majors, Captains, soldiers" how my going to be able to make a query to just
search and see that specific category of people?
