Don't be shy, what have you done to take home your living wage?

I thought it may be interesting to see what professions you've all entertained for any reasonable length of time.

I've had quite a chequered career, you could say, have chopped and changed a lot, I've been:

A finance clerk at Freemans the mail order firm
A trainee reporter/copy boy
Reporter/photographer incl court reporting
Sub-editor at the Exchange & Mart
Employment agency interviewer/salesperson
Surveyor's assistant
Van driver
Kitchen porter
Breakfast & Veg chef
Barman
Van driver
Relief manager for an Electrical goods shop chain
Assistant manager in a Hi Fi Shop
Industrial radiographer/Welding Inspector
Van driver
Electronic technician/Sound system installer and maintainer/Door entry system installer

And for 42 years up to December 31st 2012: Disc Jockey (fallow for 2 five year periods by choice)

Have had a few other things briefly in between engagements such as chef in a children's home for two weeks but I think the above is pretty much it.

Now semi retired but still sorting out and installing schools' public address systems occasionally.

Some I've enjoyed, some I've hated but all furthered an understanding of that odd species, the human bean.
