Hi

I'm kinda of new to the delving into the hardware side of compuing, though
i've been using them for far too many years..........

I have a PC currently running a AMD Duron 900mhz. Unfortunately I have no
docs regarding the motherboard at all. Is there anyway that i can check to
see up to what speed processor the motherboard can support?

Also I assume that the motherboard will support ANY processor up to that
speed with a Socket A fit and it doesn't have to me another AMD?

I am sure these are really dumb questions but really appreciate it!!

As Socket A = AMD, of course it does! Intel CPUs use totally different
sockets. Suggest you download Everest from www.lavalys.com and use it to
analyse your system then visit the manufacturer's site.

There are online manual for motherboards that will give you all the
information you need. MBs are made for specific processor brands such as
Intel or AMD. The old socket 7s could handl all sorts of processors but now
things have become more specific. Once that handles a Duron might also take
an Athlon.
