About 2.5-2.8ghz depending on if HTT and 800 or 533 FSB.
I think the P4c 3.20 ghz may even be bottlenecked by a 9800.

My 2.60c 800fsb and 9500pro reads 13,170 in 3Dmark 2001se,
and thats a hair higher than even the 3.06ghz 533fsb score (stock)
with the 9500pro (afaik).

you want the card. you gots the agp slot. The card will rock your PC world.

I have to agree. See below.

My 2.60c 800fsb and 9500pro reads 13,170 in 3Dmark 2001se,
and thats a hair higher than even the 3.06ghz 533fsb score (stock)

I have a 2.26GHz P4 with 512MB PC-2100 CL2 RAM and a Radeon 9800 Pro. My
3DMark2001SE score at stock settings with all of the latest drivers
installed in Windows is 12,626. A buddy of mine has the exact same video
card as me but he has a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 (800MHz FSB) and 1GB PC-3200 CL3
RAM. His 3DMark2001SE score is approximately 4500 points higher than mine.
I can therefore see that my processor is holding my video card's potential
back big time. Your assessment of the kind of processor needed to fully
feed a 9600 Pro is quite believeable.

Just for reference, and, hehe, i am so proud :-)

I bought a 2.6C , overclocked it to 3.25 GHz (1 GHz FSB.. hmmm)

In combination with my Radeon 9500, modded to 9700, i get about 18200
points. It seems that for 3D Mark 2001, the system is very important.

In games, it happens more and more that the video card is the limiting
factor. Especially if you use the nice effects like FSAA and anisotropic
filtering, you need a good vidcard...

That's a fantastic score, you have every reason to be proud of it! :-) And
I remember the days when someone getting a score of 6000 to 7000 in
3DMark2001 was considered incredible.

Thanks Dudes you just saved me a lot of money ;¬)
I was about to change allegiances an do the whole Intel thing,
but when i see your 3dmarks (not that there bad)
it made my mind up to just upgrade to 2800xp barton 333
my system is
2200xp @ 143 fsb = 1.933 Ghz
512 matched pair Corsair 400ddr
9700 pro
and a current 3d Mark 2001se is 14193

Thomas.

Hi : ¬)
Its me with the athlon not Strontium by the way...
Yeh i was quiet happy with the 14193 score, especially with a cpu that costs
around £42 +vat.
The 2800xp got to be worth a try, seeing as it has 333fsb & 512kcache and
mines 266fsb & 256kcache.
The 9700pro is some card though it Knocked my old Geforce 4 4400 titanium in
to a cocked hat..
Any way guys its been cool to compare...

Geez... Not too shabby. Are you overclocking the 9500, also? If I hadn't
been forced to get an Intel board, I'd overclock my processor to see how it
fares...

The 9500 is running as a full featured 9700, at 340/310... I love that 9500
non-pro 128MB ;-) I think this score could be even higher, if i had faster
mem...

I replied to this before, but i guess my *&%&@# newsserver didnt get it
through :-(

I have the Radeon running at 340/310, and softmodded to Radeon 9700, of
course. I wrote all this info down in the info box, on the compare page :-)

Thomas

Sweet. The compare URL didn't show your info box, only mine. Which is why
I had to ask :)
