Hello,

We have a user which, for administrative reasons, needs to export all
mailbox-enabled users in the GAL now and then. They just need all the
names. Is there a straightforward way for them to do that?

We don't want to give them any special permissions and want to avoid
server scripting. Ideally, they should be able to export it to a CSV
file or any text file.

Thanks,

- Alan.

Without any form of advanced permissions, or any form of scripting, the
easiest way I can think would be dependent on if you have any distribution
lists in your Exchange environment.

If you do:
1) The admin should create a DL that has every user. As users get created,
add them to the DL.
2) User composes a message in Outlook to that DL.
3) User clicks the + to the left of the DL name to expand it.
4) User copies the expanded address to Notepad.
5) User carefully closes the message without sending it.

If you don't, the user would just address the message to all the users and
copy the list.

Thats using Outlook. I'd probably post to the Exchange newsgroups since
there's probably a way to use LDAP to pull the information, tho it would
still involve some programming.

Doh! That would be perfect except I've created a query-based dl
containing everyone - and there's no expand option with qbdls!

Thanks anyway.
