Hi--duh--sorry--but---I've set all my reminders in

do I have to have it open--and minimized--to reminde me--
?---or can I close it--now.!!? Thanks Vickie
If you don't need all the management functions of [Outlook|Works]
Calendar then see if something really simple like TMR will work for you
(
http://www.phatsoft.net/). TMR doesn't have to remain loaded in memory
but it does require that the Task Scheduler is running. It adds events
in Task Scheduler to popup alerts or perform various actions. Not
everything requires a monstrous application to provide a simple
function. Sometimes I do need to use Outlook's Calendar function
because I need a history of those events, and I open Outlook often
enough to check for e-mails to see the reminders. But for something
like a TV show coming on in an hour, a reminder to take out the trash,
to call a buddy about a party, or such, TMR works great. Might as well
use Task Scheduler since it's running. You could add the event yourself
to Task Scheduler but TMR makes it easy, plus it has other actions it
can perform other than just popup a reminder window.
