I would like to know how to locate and delete desktop
images from my system. Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you mean the desktop background pictures ?

They are here

\windows\web\wallpaper

Thanks for the prompt response. When I right click on a
blank area of my desktop, then click the desktop tab,
there are items that appear in the list that do not
appear in \windows\web\wallpaper. What I want to know
how to do is to remove these items from that list.

The name listed in the options, is normally the filename without the
extension.
Have you tried start/search ?
